Our Home For Three Nights
Our first FamCamp adventure brought us to Goodfellow Air Force Camp I love FamCamps for their perfect mix of a camping vibe and military-regulated quality at great prices.
Site #4 offered full hookups for just $20/night. We enjoyed our cozy spot and amenities like laundry, showers, sports courts, and a river for fishing.
Tip: San Angelo’s water quality isn’t great, so filtering is a must. Our Zero Water filter with a tester was a road trip essential!

Overall Experience
In 2021, we spent our first Christmas away from family in San Angelo. Though I missed loved ones, FaceTime helped us stay connected.
- Our simple Christmas, without gifts or lights, focused on family and Jesus. Letting go of the usual hustle felt freeing, especially after COVID. While I love giving gifts, we needed a change that year.
- Looking back, traditions like Santa and the Elf on the Shelf often added stress. If I could, I’d rethink those to keep the focus on Jesus.
- Every family celebrates differently, and that’s beautiful. However we do it, the heart of Christmas is honoring Jesus—our Compassionate Friend, Valiant Rescuer, and Graceful Redeemer.

Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
Reflection
- Isn’t it amazing how Old Testament prophecies and recent artifact discoveries continue to confirm the Bible’s truth?
- Have you thanked God for fulfilling Isaiah’s prophecy about Jesus? Jesus left perfect paradise to endure earthly struggles—hunger, pain, temptation, and grief—while living sinlessly and fulfilling the law. His sacrifice gives us unrestricted access to Him, just as we are. What an incredible gift!
- Not only did He sacrifice Himself, but He also experienced our struggles to offer perfect comfort. No other religion offers a God who sacrifices Himself out of love or grants Heaven as a free gift to all who accept it. This sets Christianity apart and affirms our God as the one true and loving God.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for showing me perfect love. With the Holy Spirit you gave me, I can love even when I want to pull away, love when I'm upset, love when I'm hurt, and love when betrayed. I couldn't love fully without you, and I'm really grateful for the joy and peace your love brings into my heart. You fulfill me.
In Jesus Name, Amen
